The SESMB Community Music School has enjoyed great success with its unique curriculum since 1996... for more than decade! Between the years of 1991-1995 was the developmental and initial testing phases of this curriculum, giving this progressive program’s a current life span of 16 years and running! Throughout the years, this curriculum has progressed in response to test cases and actual teaching results from an ever increasing demographic of student body. Under constant research and development, the curriculum at SESMB Community Music is committed to producing the finest music education curriculum and its companion teaching materials providing for recreational, amateur and budding professional musicians alike.

Originally established as the Studio E School of Music in Madison, Connecticut (1996-2002). The mission of Studio E is to offer a comprehensive music education and instrumental curriculum that flows naturally for all students, recreational or potential future professional. In 2002, Studio E was retired due to relocation. Rather than sell the school and lose it’s curriculum to a new owner/director, the founding curriculum was relocated to Boston, Massachusetts and renamed SESMB (Studio E School of Music, Boston.)
In Boston since 2002, the school functioned as a curriculum that may be used by other teachers and in other music schools rather than a physical school. After a few years of test-casing the success of adapting students from pre-established music experience (transfer students), a variety of time limits as well as partial implementation of our program in several towns & cities in the Greater Boston Area, SESMB Community Music was conceived. A community of music establishments and individual teachers utilizing the SESMB published books and participation in teacher-training programs to include the use of its curriculum alongside the learning materials.

Community teachers
employed by SESMB Community Music School receive on-the-job training in usage of the SESMB Community Music curriculum. Other teachers using the SESMB published books and having partaken in teacher education seminars or educator coaching may apply our curriculum in whole or in part, free to adapt and contribute their own personal attributes to the education of music and instrumental performance.

In our studios, SESMB Community Music specializes in the start of formal music education for piano and guitar at the earliest ages between 4-6. It is our specialty to teach children successfully and cheerfully at these formative years with full consideration and ability to traverse their cognitive, emotional and psychological development. The specialization of starting children ages 4-6 is a rare offering since most school and private teachers prefer children ages 7 and up. As we do also enroll children ages 7 and up as well as adult students, our programs are equally considerate of the cognitive, emotional and psychological development for the full range.
